Mixed container gardening continues to be one of the fastest growing segments of horticulture. Every gardening magazine is filled with photos of backyards that have great mixed containers both hanging as baskets and in pots on patios, decks, and porches. Lawn and garden consumers are seeing these combinations in magazines and want to be able to go to their favorite retailer to purchase them. At Mast Young Plants, we have come up with a multi-stuck liner that takes the guess work out of designing combinations.
Through our annual summer trial garden (Proeftuin) we are able to evaluate nearly 400 combinations each summer and choose ones that are sure winners for the home gardener. The “Designer Liner” is a MYP exclusive. This multi-stuck 50 cell plug contains 3 different plants in each cell. These 3 different plants each have been pinched and rooted together for 6 weeks. Planting DL’s saves growers’ labor at the transplant line as you no longer have to worry about following a planting diagram. Just receive the plugs, decide how many you want in your container, and put them in symmetrically for a beautiful combination basket.
